Mathew Pain joins Bellrock claims team
Bellrock is proud to welcome Mathew Pain to our claims team. Mathew’s experience and expertise broadens our claims capabilities and asserts our strong focus on claims advocacy for our clients.
Our claims team has developed significantly under the management of Mat Holland. Over the past 12 months Bellrock has attained successful authorisation from ASIC to handle and settle insurance claims. At present it is managing some of the country’s most complex and popular insurance claims around cladding, and most recently a complex infrastructure claim. Mat Holland says, “The addition of Mathew Pain enhances the Team’s capabilities. He has a wealth of experience stretching some 30 years in the London Insurance market. I would be very doubtful if between us there is a claim across a class of general insurance or industry that we have not managed.”
Mathew Pain is a recognised claims leader in the adjustment and handling of very high value and complex claims (individually in excess of AUD $2 billion). He has led insurance Towers on behalf of various insurers across Australasia, Europe, Middle and the Far East.
In his role at Bellrock Mathew Pain will focus on professional indemnity, financial institutions, crime and directors and officers’ liability claims.
As regards professional indemnity, Mathew has managed claims on behalf of a broad range of professionals including construction professionals (architects, engineers and other building professionals), accountants, solicitors and financial institutions and advisers.
Specific to construction claims, Mathew has managed claims for large construction projects in Australia relating to gas fired power stations, desalination plants, coal mines and fertilizer manufacturing projects.
Mathew says, “Joining Bellrock at this stage of its growth as a brokerage represents an exciting opportunity for me. My experience in the industry will serve to enhance our existing capabilities in claims advocacy. I am excited to work on the complex and high value claims that Bellrock manage for its clients. My years in the industry have taught me that whilst working on claims of this size and complexity may sometimes be a rocky road, a hands on approach centred on open communication with the client and, where relevant, its insurers is essential. I am extremely pleased to see that the “client-first” philosophy is not only alive and well at Bellrock but informs everything we do. I look forward to taking that philosophy forward in all aspects of my work here.”
